Install an Android build

Open an Oore install page on an Android device and install its APK.

Install an available APK after Oore authorizes an artifact-scoped delivery capability. That capability lasts up to one hour and ends sooner when the artifact itself expires.

What you need

  • Project access that allows artifact downloads.
  • A completed build with an available APK.
  • An Artifact delivery URL or External Access public URL that the Android device can reach.

1. Open the install page

  1. Open the completed build.
  2. Under Artifacts, select Install for the APK.
  3. Select Copy install page link when you need to move the link from a desktop browser to the device.

The copied build-page URL still requires Oore sign-in and project access. Oore creates the short-lived bearer capability only after an authorized user selects Install. Share that resulting delivery URL only with the intended tester.

2. Install on Android

  1. Open the install page on the Android device.
  2. Select Install. From a desktop browser, the same action is labeled Download APK.
  3. If Android asks, allow the current browser or file manager to install unknown apps.
  4. Open the downloaded APK and confirm installation.

You can turn off the browser’s unknown-app permission again after the install.

Verify the result

The application appears in the Android launcher and opens on the device.

Troubleshooting

Android blocks the APK

Allow unknown-app installation for the browser or file manager that opened this download, then retry.

The install page says Artifact expired

Run a new build. An expired artifact cannot create another install session.

The install link cannot be opened on the device

Confirm the configured Artifact delivery URL or External Access public URL is reachable from that device, then create a fresh install session.

Next step

Return to the build and download another artifact or test the installed application.
