Configure Microsoft Entra ID OIDC

Register a Microsoft Entra ID web application and connect its tenant issuer to Oore.

Register Oore as a web application in Microsoft Entra ID. This page covers only Entra-specific configuration; configure the shared OIDC network and enablement steps separately.

What you need

  • Permission to register applications in the intended Entra tenant
  • The tenant ID
  • The exact Oore frontend callback ending in /auth/callback

1. Register the Entra application

  1. In the Microsoft Entra admin center, open App registrations and select New registration.
  2. Enter a name and choose the supported account type for your organization.
  3. Under Redirect URI, choose Web and enter the exact Oore callback.
  4. Register the application.
  5. On Overview, copy:
    • Application (client) ID; and
    • Directory (tenant) ID.
  6. Open Certificates & secrets, create a client secret, and copy its Value while it is visible. Do not copy the secret ID.

2. Save Microsoft Entra ID in Oore

In Oore’s OIDC step, select Microsoft Entra ID under Identity provider, then enter:

Oore fieldMicrosoft Entra ID value
Issuer URLhttps://login.microsoftonline.com/<tenant-id>/v2.0
Client IDApplication (client) ID
Client secret (optional)Client secret Value

Replace <tenant-id> with the Directory (tenant) ID and select Configure OIDC.

Use a tenant-specific issuer. This keeps sign-in scoped to the tenant you registered instead of relying on a multi-tenant alias.

Verify the result

Confirm Oore reports the discovered tenant issuer. After you complete the shared External Access steps and select Turn on, sign in from a private window and confirm Microsoft returns the browser to the exact Oore callback.

Microsoft documents web redirect URI registration and its OIDC protocol endpoints.

Troubleshooting

Entra says that the account has no directory

A personal Microsoft account without an Entra tenant cannot register this application. Use an organization account with app registration access, or create a tenant first.

Entra reports that the reply URL does not match

The registered Web redirect URI differs from the callback Oore sent. Correct the scheme, host, port, /auth/callback path, or trailing slash.

Oore discovery returns the wrong tenant

The issuer contains an alias or the wrong tenant ID. Replace it with the Directory (tenant) ID from the same app registration.

Next step

Return to Configure External Access (OIDC) to run technical checks and enable access.
