Oore CI
CLI

`oore backup`

Create, verify, and restore an encrypted-state backup of the default managed layout.

Use oore backup on the control-plane Mac to protect the Oore database and its encryption key.

oore backup create --output <FILE> [--state-file <PATH>]
oore backup verify --input <FILE>
oore backup restore --input <FILE> [--state-file <PATH>]

The archive is an owner-readable .tar.gz file. It holds a consistent SQLite snapshot, the encryption key, and a checksum manifest.

For a Complete installation, it also holds the matching managed-runner.json.

Backups do not contain artifact payloads. Back those up separately.

oore backup create

OptionPurpose
--outputDestination .tar.gz file.
--state-fileSQLite state file. Also reads OORE_SETUP_STATE_FILE.

Creation can run while oored is live. It prints Created backup.

Use only the default managed data layout. --state-file selects another database, but not its matching key.

oore backup verify

OptionPurpose
--inputBackup .tar.gz file.

Verification checks the expected files, SHA-256 digests, key length, and SQLite integrity. It prints Backup verified.

oore backup restore

OptionPurpose
--inputBackup .tar.gz file.
--state-fileSQLite state file to restore. Also reads OORE_SETUP_STATE_FILE.

Stop oored and the runner first. Restore refuses to run while the daemon or database is open.

Restore verifies the archive again. It then replaces the database and key with rollback protection.

A later create or restore finishes or rolls back an interrupted restore.

Archive versions

Backups without a managed runner config use oore-backup-v1. Backups with one use oore-backup-v2.

Use Oore v0.1.42 or newer to verify or restore a v2 backup.
