`oore runner`
Low-level Direct macOS runner commands for registration, service management, and token rotation.
Profile installations manage their runner through oore install and oore setup. Use these commands only where this page says so.
oore runner register --token <TOKEN> [--daemon-url <URL>] [--name <NAME>] [--label <LABEL>]...
oore runner start [--daemon-url <URL>] [--config <PATH>]
oore runner install-service [--config <PATH> | --managed-local [--daemon-url <URL>] [--state-file <PATH>] [--name <NAME>]]
oore runner rotate-token
oore runner uninstall-serviceTo add a build Mac, install the Runner profile instead. See Add a Direct macOS runner.
oore runner register
Registers this Mac as a build runner and writes its config.
| Option | Purpose |
|---|---|
--token | Owner or Admin session token. Also reads OORE_SESSION_TOKEN. |
--daemon-url | Control-plane URL. Also reads OORE_DAEMON_URL. Defaults to http://127.0.0.1:8787. |
--name | Runner name. Defaults to the host name. |
--label | Extra label that pipelines can select with runs_on. Repeat it for more labels. |
Oore adds detected labels such as macos-15 and xcode-16. See Runner labels.
oore runner start
Runs the runner in the foreground. It polls for jobs and runs builds until you stop it.
| Option | Purpose |
|---|---|
--daemon-url | Control-plane URL. Defaults to the URL in the runner config. |
--config | Runner config file. Defaults to runner.json in the install root. |
Run oore runner register first.
oore runner install-service
Installs and starts a registered runner as a boot-time macOS service.
| Option | Purpose |
|---|---|
--config | Runner config file. Defaults to runner.json in the install root. |
--managed-local | Install or repair the runner that this Mac’s own control plane manages. |
--daemon-url | With --managed-local, the control-plane URL to enroll with. Also reads OORE_DAEMON_URL. |
--state-file | With --managed-local, the local Oore database. Also reads OORE_SETUP_STATE_FILE. |
--name | With --managed-local, the runner name. Defaults to the host name. |
A profile installation refuses this command. Run oore setup to repair its runner service instead.
oore runner rotate-token
Issues a new credential for the managed runner of a Ready Complete installation and installs it in the runner service.
Other installations refuse it. If the runner service or its config does not match the installation, run oore setup to repair it first.
oore runner uninstall-service
Stops and removes the macOS runner service that install-service created.
A profile installation refuses this command. Run oore uninstall to remove the whole role.
