Invite a team member

Create an Oore invitation, choose an instance role, and share the instance URL with the new user.

Create an invited Oore account and share the instance URL with the person. Oore does not send an invitation email.

The invitation sets an instance role. It does not grant access to individual projects.

What you need

  • An Owner or Admin account
  • The email address the person’s OIDC provider or Trusted Proxy will send to Oore
  • External Access configured for anyone who cannot use loopback on the backend Mac

1. Create the invitation

  1. Open Settings > Users.
  2. Select Invite user.
  3. In Invite a user, enter the person’s Email.
  4. Choose an Instance role:
    • Admin can manage instance settings, users, and projects.
    • Developer can work in projects where they have explicit membership.
    • QA Viewer can view builds and artifacts in assigned projects.
  5. Select Send invite.

2. Share the instance URL

Oore copies the current browser origin after creating the invitation. Before sharing it, confirm it is the team-reachable External Access frontend origin. If you created the invitation from a local client and the copied URL uses localhost or 127.0.0.1, replace it with the intended External Access client URL.

Send the confirmed URL through your normal team channel. If clipboard access is unavailable, copy the correct client URL directly.

The user appears with the invited status. When they sign in through the instance’s configured OIDC or Trusted Proxy path with the same email, Oore changes the status to active.

Verify the result

In Settings > Users, confirm that:

  • the email is correct;
  • the intended instance role is shown; and
  • the status is invited before first sign-in and active after a matching sign-in.

The new user can sign in to Oore, but a Developer or QA Viewer will not see a project until you grant project access.

Troubleshooting

The email already exists

An Oore user or invitation already uses that normalized email. Find the existing row in Settings > Users and change its role or restore it instead of creating a second invitation.

The user remains invited

The identity provider or proxy probably supplied a different email. Compare the invitation with the authenticated email, then correct the upstream identity or invite the exact address it supplies.

The user can sign in but cannot see a project

An instance role does not create project membership. Add the user from that project’s Settings tab.

Next step

Assign the user’s project access.
