Approve a build
Release a build that waits at the approval step, or reject it.
When a pipeline’s approval policy covers a build, Oore queues it but no runner claims it until a project maintainer decides. See Triggers, timeouts and approvals to set the policy.
What you need
- Project maintainer, instance admin, or instance owner access.
- A build that shows Awaiting approval.
Notification channels on All events, or with Build approval needed ticked, announce each build that starts waiting.
1. Open the build
Open the build from the notification, Builds, or the project’s build list.
2. Decide
Select Approve to release the build to the runner queue, or Reject to cancel it. You can add a note; it appears on the build timeline and in the audit log.
The same decisions are available through Approve build and Reject build.
Verify the result
An approved build stays queued until a runner claims it, then runs as usual.
A rejected build is canceled. The build timeline records who decided, and
the audit log records build_approved or build_rejected.
Troubleshooting
Approve and Reject are missing
Only maintainers can decide. Developers can still cancel the build.
Oore says the build is not waiting for approval
Someone else already decided, or the build was canceled.
Next step
Cancel a build that should not run, or change which builds need approval in Triggers, timeouts and approvals.
